Key Responsibilities
1. Business Needs Analysis & Translation
- Develop a deep understanding of data requirements, challenges, and pain points across various business lines (e.g., Retail Banking, Corporate Banking, Risk Management, Compliance).
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document business requirements, creating detailed Business Requirements Documents (BRD) and user stories.
- Translate ambiguous business needs into precise, quantifiable data requirements, including data standards, data quality rules, and data processing logic.
2. Data Solution Design
- Design data products and solutions based on business requirements, including data reports, dashboards, and data service APIs.
- Define and champion data standardization efforts to ensure consistency and accuracy of data definitions, metrics, and models across the bank.
- Create and maintain critical data documentation, such as data flow diagrams, data dictionaries, and entity-relationship diagrams.
3. Technical Collaboration & Implementation Support**
- Work closely with Data Engineers, Data Architects, and the Data Governance team to ensure the technical feasibility and successful implementation of data solutions.
- Utilize your understanding of data standardization, data schemas, indexing, ETL processes, and data storage to participate in technical solution reviews and provide expert input.
- Support the team in SQL query validation, data quality testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure deliverables meet business expectations.
4. Data Governance & Quality Assurance**
- Participate in establishing and maintaining the data governance framework and policies, promoting data management best practices.
- Monitor key data metrics, analyze root causes of data quality issues, and drive remediation efforts with relevant teams.
Qualifications
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Management, Finance, Statistics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Systems Analyst, with a background in financial services or banking projects.
- Excellent skills in business requirements analysis, documentation, and communication, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Solid data technology foundation, with a deep understanding of:
- Data Standardization and Data Modeling
- Data Schemas and Data Structures.
- The principles and application of Database Indexing
- Proficiency in SQL for complex data querying and validation.
- Familiarity with core concepts of data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, and data governance.
