The Sourcing Manager leads the end-to-end sourcing critical time path through working together with team members, internal stakeholders and third party providers to plan, coordinate and execute efficient sourcing & new product development activities.
To source products ensuring competitive costs of goods whilst optimizing the cost of doing business to deliver the best end-to-end solution for the company.
Responsibility:
·Action sourcing for strategic category business plans
·Obtain quotes comparing costs from various vendors
·Organise buying trips in conjunction with the buyer
·Source new suppliers for buyers to review
·Ample Knowledge of mandatory standards for categories within your portfolio
·Review & approve all product samples & packaging prior to on forwarding to onshore with recommendations
·In-line and final production inspection when required, approve commencement of bulk production
·Assist buyer with price negotiations
·Assist buyer in selecting products
·Conduct factory audits
·Follow up corrective action plans with suppliers
·Periodically carry out operational and performance reviews to maintain a consistent quality assured supplier base
·Identify mandatory standards & technical requirements for new product development & packaging to ensure all product is compliant with these requirements
·Management of team-development and mentor: Senior Merchandiser, Merchandiser and Assistant Merchandiser
Accountabilities:
·Visit factories and undertake factory assessments & approvals
·Ensure products are registered and orders created in a timely manner
·Ensure quality inspections are undertaken on final production
·Ensure on time delivery of orders
·Develop collaborate business plans with strategic suppliers
·Ensure signed terms & conditions are in place with all suppliers
·Management of team – performance review / conversations
