Scope of Job:
This position is responsible for creative development, conceptual design and design execution for the Entertainment department. Types of projects involve large-scale theatre shows, street performances, mascot meet & greet activities and interactive with children. Immersive experiences, and other entertainment experiences.
Main Responsibilities
1. Leadership & Team Management
- Lead the creative and performance teams including choreography and directors and performers to foster a collaborative, efficient, and innovative working environment.
- Develop rehearsal and performance schedules, allocate resources effectively, and ensure projects are completed on time with high quality.
- Mentor team members to enhance their professional skills and encourage creative thinking and artistic expression.
2. Concept & Prodcution Development
- Sperhead the overall conceptual design and creative development of performance projects, ensuring alignment with the LEGO brand spirit and Park themes.
- Propose innovative performance formats and interactive experiences based on market trends and audience perferences.
3. Story and Narrative Construction
- Create compelling stories and narratives for shows, incorporating elements of drama, humor, emotion, and excitement.
- Integrate Park characters and IP into narratives to deepen cultural resonance and audience connection.
4. Music and Performance Design
- Compose, select, or adapt music and songs for performacnes, ensuring they align with the emotional tone and storyline.
- Write lyrics and translate the songs from LEGOLAND Global team to Chinese. Guide our performers in foreign language pronunciation and singing, tailored to the musical theatre style, ensuring natural and expressive delivery.
- Provide vocal coaching to actors to improve singing performance and ensure seamless integration of music and acting.
- Work closely with designers to develo visual concepts for sets, costumes, lighting, and special effects, ensuring they enhance the overall impact of the show.
5. Choreography/Music/Casting
- Collaborate with choreographers to develop dynamic and engaging dance numbers that complement the story and enhance the performance.
- Select or compose appropriate music for shows, ensuring it supports the mood and emotion of the performance.
- Select and direct cast members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and talents to bring the show to life.
6. Create the Family Interactive Performance
- Design and lead parent-child interactive segments, engaging children through "learn-through-play" performance methods to enhance fun and participation.
- Train actors in improvisational interaction techniques, ensuring natural and joyful family engagement during performances.
7. Production Management
- Oversee the entire production process, including budgeting, scheduling, and logistics, to ensure the show is delivered on time and within budget.
8. Audience Engagement
- Ensure shows are engaging and interactive, encouraging audience participation and creating a memorable experience for guests.
9. Marketing Support
- Establish performance evaluation mechanisms to regularly collect audience feedback and performance data, analyzing results to propose improvement.
- Conduct post performance reviews with the team to drive continuous upgrades in content, interaction, and overall experience
- Work closely with the marketing team to promote shows and create excitement among guests.
10. Feedback and Evaluation
- Seek feedback from guests and team members to continuously improve the quality and effectiveness of shows.
- Assess the success of shows, using metrics such as audience feedback, attendance, and revenue, and make recommendations for improvement.
11. New Performance Development and Innovation
- Plan and develop new performance projects based on park development needs and market trends, including themed musicals, parades, and seasonal events.
- Stay updated on industry trends and international best practices, introducing innovative concepts and technologies to maintain the park’s leading edge in entertainment.
12. Health & Safety
You are responsible for implementing LLSHR’s HSS Policy, management system and related standards.
Within the area of management responsibility, you must:
- Show clear leadership and commitment to HSS; this includes setting a good personal example.
- Develop plans that are consistent with the HSS strategy to carry out risk assessments and meet relevant standards, legal requirements and LLSHR’s HSS targets and objectives.
- Take the necessary practical steps to implement the HSS management system, including:
- Providing suitable resources and training
- Defining specific roles and responsibilities
- Explaining HSS issues effectively
- Establishing operational controls
- Managing contractors effectively
- Organising emergency response arrangements
- Implement measures to monitor HSS performance and, where necessary, take corrective action. This includes audits, performance monitoring, and reporting / investigating incidents.
- Ensure that HSS decisions are consistent with LLSHR’s HSS Policy.
- Consider HSS issues in business decisions and explain their importance.
- Support promotional campaigns and educational plans.
- Recognise and reward employees who show positive HSS behaviour and achieve HSS objectives.
- Discuss HSS issues regularly.
- Encourage employees to suggest measures to improve HSS performance, and follow these up.
- Ensure that employees who blatantly or repeatedly violate HSS standards, procedures and rules are disciplined appropriately.
- Challenge unsafe conditions or actions and work with those involved to agree the necessary safety improvements.
- Provide ready access to skilled HSS professionals and / or accurate HSS advice.
Job Requirements:
1. Working & Education Background
- College degree or above on creative /performing arts or relate disciplines.
- 6+ years of theme park entertainment or professional stage/theatre working experience, kids performance is preferred.
- Drama/theatre/movie/performance/stage related education background is preferred.
2. Skills & Knowledge
- Strong in creative thinking, visual communication, storytelling, trend awareness, teamwork & leadership.
- Strong writing and communication skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Familiar with the operation of various performing arts programs is preferred.
- Skillful to use office software, including Outlook, PPT, Excel.
